1. Information We Collect

Files You Upload

When you use our converter, you upload a video file to our servers. This file is processed exclusively for the purpose of audio extraction. We never read the content of your file beyond what is required for the conversion process. We do not create backups. We do not inspect filenames for personal information.

The original video file is permanently deleted from our filesystem the moment FFmpeg finishes encoding your MP3 — not moved to trash, not archived. The converted MP3 file is made available for download for up to 60 minutes, after which an automated cleanup job permanently removes it.

Server Logs

Our web server logs contain: timestamp of request, HTTP response code, and approximate request size. Filenames, file content, and IP addresses are explicitly excluded from logs. These logs exist solely for monitoring server health and detecting abuse.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data: pages visited, session duration, general device type, and geographic region (country-level only). This data is collected in aggregate and cannot be used to identify any individual. We do not enable Google Analytics remarketing or advertising features.

Cookies

We use minimal, functional cookies required for the service to operate. Google Analytics cookies are set with anonymized IP addresses. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting the converter's core functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the minimal information we collect for the following purposes only:

  • Service delivery: Processing your uploaded video and returning a converted MP3 file
  • Abuse prevention: Rate limiting and monitoring to prevent service abuse
  • Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to understand which features matter most
  • Legal compliance: Responding to valid legal orders if required by law

We do not use your information for advertising targeting, profiling, selling to third parties, or any purpose beyond those listed above.

3. Data Security

Encryption in Transit

All file transfers between your browser and our servers use TLS 1.3 — the most current and secure version of Transport Layer Security. Your upload cannot be intercepted or decrypted in transit.

Isolated Storage

Each uploaded file is stored in a unique, randomly-generated UUID-based path. This means no two users' files can be guessed, enumerated, or accidentally accessed by another user. Even our own server logs do not contain these file paths.

Automated Deletion

Deletion is not a manual process — it happens automatically. A scheduled cleanup job runs every 30 minutes and permanently removes any output files older than 60 minutes. Input files are deleted synchronously at the moment conversion completes.

Infrastructure Security

Our servers are protected by firewalls, and we enforce strict CORS policies and HTTP security headers (Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options). We apply OS and dependency patches promptly.

4. Third-Party Services

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 for anonymized usage statistics. We have configured our implementation to anonymize IP addresses, disable cross-site tracking, and disable advertising features. Google Analytics data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not share personally identifiable information with Google Analytics.

FFmpeg

Our audio processing is performed using FFmpeg, an open-source media framework. FFmpeg runs on our own servers — your files are never sent to a third-party processing service. FFmpeg processes your file locally and writes the output directly to our server's temporary storage.

No Other Third Parties

We do not use third-party file storage services, CDNs that retain your files, payment processors, email marketing services, CRM systems, or any other service that receives your personal data or file content.

5. Your Rights

Because we do not collect personally identifiable information and do not maintain user accounts or profiles, most traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion) do not apply in the conventional sense — there is simply no personal data record associated with your session to retrieve or delete.

If you have concerns about data we may hold, please contact us via our contact page. We will respond within 14 days. Residents of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and California (CCPA) may have additional rights under applicable law.

6. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through our service, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete any such information.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

8. Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests related to this Privacy Policy, please reach out via our contact page. We respond to all privacy inquiries within 14 business days.
